Different measuring and production processes at V-belt manufacturers result in different length specifications across manufacturers. However, these differences do not affect the functionality of the belts. Various industry standards use different parameters to determine length information. A distinction is made between external length (length external, Le), internal length (length internal, Li) and effective length. The effective length describes the length measurement to about 3/4 height of the belt according to DIN 2215. Furthermore, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must be included for reliable length measurement, since this is also an important factor in the production process.
