Pilot Road 3 The completely new product line MICHELIN Pilot Road 3 is aimed at riders of sport touring bikes. The Pilot Road 3 provides plenty of grip in virtually all conditions, especially on wet and damp roads, while at the same time achieving high mileage. Engineers at the Michelin Technology Center have developed a completely new tread technology for the tread area called X Sipe Technology (XST). This technology works in two ways: Firstly, the sharp-edged fins cut through the water film on wet roads. On the other hand, the widened tread grooves improve the discharge of the water to the outside.
